Basil J. Frank, 91, of Bellevue, died Saturday, June 7, 2008, at home.
Mr. Frank was born in Bellevue, Nov. 17, 1916, son of the late Salvatorie "Sam" and Rosalia (Cirnaldi) Frank. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Club Amer-Ital, Bellevue Eagles and Bellevue Elks, and had formerly served as a Bellevue City Council member.
Basil graduated from Bellevue High School in 1934. He worked for GTE, retiring in 1982. He was the proud owner of Billiard Bowl in Bellevue.
Survivors include his son, Samuel Frank; two daughters, Mary Ann (David) Bell, and Roseann Alexander with whom he made his home, all of Bellevue; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet (Nasonti) Frank, whom he married Aug. 31, 1939, and she preceded him in death March 10, 1997; and his older siblings, Dominic Frank, Mary Joyce and Charles Frank.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday in Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue; the Rosary will be recited at 3:45 p.m. The funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; the Rev. Keith Stripe will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Bellevue.
