Greg Blackburn, 52, of Sandusky, died unexpectedly at home Saturday morning, May 24, 2008.
He was born April 22, 1956, in Sandusky. He worked at Double S Industries for 10 years and was a resident of Renaissance House where he received excellent care.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Huron. He had participated in the Erie County Special Olympics for several years and was a member of the Cerebral Palsy Group of Sandusky. Greg enjoyed bowling, boating, watching baseball, country music and attending dances.
Gregory is survived by his mother, Carol M. Blackburn of Huron; sisters, Pamela (Mark) Keech of Ann Arbor, Mich., Amy (Don) Esplin of Brunswick, Ohio, Audrey (David) Howard of Lenore City, Tenn., and Diane Blackburn of Sandusky; brother, Paul (Penny) Blackburn, Oregon, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Blackburn and his grandmother, Theresa Webber who he loved dearly.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where prayers will be recited at 9:45 a.m. Thursday.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main St., Huron. Father Jeffery Sikorski will officiate. Burial will be at Meadow Green Memorial Care.
