Raymond A. Trueman, 82, of Sandusky, passed away early Friday morning, May 23, 2008, in Ohio Veterans Home.
Ray was born July 20, 1925, in North Baltimore, Ohio, to Charles and Flossie (Noftz) Trueman He was married 49 years to Patricia C. Carroll and she died July 23, 1996.
Ray was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II and received the Bronze Star. He served on the USS Enterprise, the most decorated ship during WW II. He worked for Huron Lime Plant retiring in 1987. He was a member of Sandusky American Legion Post 83 and Ducks Unlimited.
Ray will be sadly missed by his children, Michael (Kathy) Trueman of Milan, Craig (Connie) Trueman of Huron, Carol (Wally) Ziegler of Sandusky, Cindy Trueman of Athens, Ohio, Kelly (Brian) Riedy of Sandusky and Kathleen Trueman of Sandusky; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Miller of Sandusky, Sue (Herb) Werren of Indiana and Bertha (David) Biechele of Sandusky; brothers, Don (Jan) Trueman of Hamilton, Ohio, Fred (Dorcas) and David (Ann) Trueman of California.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; parents; and granddaughter, Brittany E. Trueman.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. today in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where funeral services will be at noon Wednesday. The Rev. Patrick Rohen will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
