Leonard J. Martin, 93, of Monroeville, died early Wednesday morning, May 21, 2008, in Twilight Gardens Nursing Home, Norwalk, following a lengthy illness.
He was born Dec. 6, 1914, in Monroeville, where he was a life-long farmer. Leonard loved making things out of wood, gardening, hunting and fishing. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monroeville, and Holy Name Society.
He is survived by his sister, Loretta Didion of Bellevue; seven nieces; and four nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bena (Dendinger) Martin; three sisters, Mary Cramer, Rose Martin and Edna Martin; and seven brothers, William, John, Leo, Charles, Roman, Louis and Raymond Martin.
Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Friday in Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe St., where Christian wake services will be at 5:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel St., Monroeville; the Rev. Kenneth J. Lill will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroeville.
