Bert S. Fehl, 82, of rural Bellevue, died Sunday, May 18, 2008, in New Life Hospice in Lorain.
Mr. Fehl was born Dec. 5, 1925, in Bellevue, son of the late Sumner and Roberta (Garrett) Fehl. He attended Bellevue High School and then entered the U.S. Navy during WWII where he served on LST 826 as a gunners mate in the Pacific.
Bert was the plant carpenter at Ford Motor Co., in Sandusky, for 40 years. He was a member of the Bellevue VFW; Eagles; AARP; and the USLST Association. He enjoyed dancing to the big band sound and polkas, woodworking and general "homelife."
He is survived by his son, John A. (Barbara) Fehl of Fremont, and a special companion, Helen Feron of Wellington, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Della May (Lepley) Fehl, whom he married Nov. 13, 1957, and who died May 3, 1991.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue, where funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Burial will be at Bellevue Cemetery.
