Jean Carol Everett, 62, residing in Castalia, died late Friday evening, May 16, 2008, in Firelands Regional Medical Center Main Campus, after a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 14, 1945, in Berkley Heights, N.J., and moved to Sandusky 42 years ago following her marriage to James J. Everett on Oct. 8, 1966. She was employed over the years by the former Noble Shoes, Elder Beerman, Perkins School system and most enjoyed working with her husband at Everett's Gun Shop for many years.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was an avid collector of dolls, lighthouses and Star Wars memorabilia. Jean enjoyed Christmas and her many Christmas villages, watching movies, boating and spending time with her family and friends.
Jean is survived by her husband, James J. Everett; a son, James R. Everett of Sandusky; three sisters, Annie (Bob) Crossley of Wolfeboro, N.H., Helen (Steve) Wilson of Sullivan, Ohio, and Annette Kujat of Howell, N.J.; one brother, Edward (Elin) Kujat of Davidsonville, Md.; two brother-in-laws, Dean and Paul Everett; one sister-in-law, Kathy Steinmitz; her mother-in-law, Mary Ellen Everett; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Jean (Beck) Kujat; one sister, Mary Kujat; and her father-in-law, Robert J. Everett.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
