LaDonna Mae Minier, 79, of Port Clinton, died unexpectedly Friday, May 16, 2008, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
Mrs. Minier was born in Bellevue, Feb. 13, 1929, daughter of the late Vett Jr. "Bus" and Katharine (Collins) Dick. She graduated from Clyde High School in 1946.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde, where she and her late husband began the fellowship hour following church, and a member of the Sandusky Co. Mental Retardation Assoc. She and Chub were among the founders of School of Hope in Fremont.
La Donna was an avid Cleveland Indian fan, and for many years entered her crocheted items in the Sandusky County Fair.
On August 2, 1947, she married LeRoy "Chub" Minier and he died Dec. 2, 1997. They had two children, both of whom are deceased, Gary Leroy Minier and Gaye Lynne Minier.
She is survived by her siblings, Barbara (Timothy) Steager, Vickery; Robert (Sue) Dick, Willard; Nancy (Daniel) Pickens, Bellevue; and nieces and nephews, Josh (Jen) Pickens; Charlie Dick, Tim Steager, Brenda Stults, Chip Steager, Beth Burkett, Chuck Minier, Mary Crumrine, Betty Davis, Janet Grotz, Linda Heberling, Jim Minier, Lisa Minier, Jeff Minier, Brenda Smith, Becky Minier, Carol Linder, and Anna Marie Chambers. LaDonna and Chub were foster parents to Valerie (Chuck) Oatley, Florida and Dennis (Donna) Pocock, Sandusky.
Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Sunday in Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde, with the Rev. Gerry Gosnell. Burial will be in York Free Chapel Cemetery.
