Paul W. Bishoff, 79, of Marblehead, died Thursday, May 8, 2008, in the intensive care unit of Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.
He was born May 31, 1928, in Parkersburg, W.V., the son of the late Labon and Mary (Daley) Bishoff. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, having served his country during World War II. Paul worked as a pipefitter for General Motors in Sandusky until his retirement in 1989.
He was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church, Lakeside, VFW Post 7572, Marblehead, American Legion Post 83, Sandusky, Eagles Post 444, Sandusky, local UAW 913, Sandusky and Sandusky Masons. His hobbies included fishing, bowling and listening to polka music.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (King), whom he married April 22, 1950; sons, Neil Bishoff, Bruce Bishoff and Keith (Mary Pat) Bishoff, all of Marblehead; grandchildren, Brian Bishoff, Jennifer Bishoff, Shawn (Eugene) Covey, Eric (Kasey) Bishoff, Mindy Bishoff, Hannah Bishoff and Lily Bishoff; great-granddaughter, Taylor Bishoff; and daughter-in-law, Reba Bishoff.
He was preceded in death by his son, Clifford Bishoff; parents; sisters, Grace Galloway, Katherine Wright and Eva Rich; and brother, Clifford Paul Bishoff.
Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday in Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Road, Lakeside-Marblehead, where VFW Post 7572 will conduct military services at 7 p.m. Memorial Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home; the Rev. Jerry Phelps officiating. Burial will follow in Sackett Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by members of VFW Post 7572.
