Evelyn "Evie" Bostater, 78, of Sandusky, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 7, 2008, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness.
She was born Nov. 15, 1929, in Port Clinton, and was a 1947 graduate of Port Clinton High School. During the war years she worked at the Erie Ordinance Depot and later in the Accounting Department at Chef's Pantry for many years, before retiring. She enjoyed going on Timely Tours bus trips, sewing, word searches, and puzzles. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
She is survived by three sons, Bruce E., Keith D., and Kenneth L. (Mary) Bostater, all of Sandusky; daughter, Elaine M. Bostater of Sandusky; four grandchildren, Nicole, Sean, Brandon and Nicholas; sister, Eleanor Humphrey of Catawba Island; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. "Chuck" Bostater, Sept. 27, 2000; twin son, Charles W. Bostater Jr.; and parents, Howard and Justina Georgiana (Rofkar) Lafer.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Graveside services will be at noon Saturday at Catawba Island Cemetery. The Rev. John Mawhirter will officiate.
