Warner Buxton, Port Clinton, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at home with his daughter in Vossburg, Miss.
He was born Aug. 7, 1917, in Clark County, Miss., son of Warner and Mary (Coleman) Buxton.
He moved to Port Clinton and worked at Marshall's Inn and EAD until he retired to minister as a Deacon to the late, great Professor Harold Boggs at Gypsum Tabernacle Church.
With over 20 albums to their success, they were known as one of the greatest gospelministry teams of their time.
After the passing of Prof. Boggs, Buxton stayed faithful to the ministry serving as Senior Deacon under Pastor Brian Curley of the Rebirth Community Church in Port Clinton until returning home to his family in Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Matthew (Port Clinton), Luther and Willie Buxton; and sons, Lonnie and Eugene Buxton.
