Bonita R. "Granny" Franklin, 81, died Saturday, May 3, 2008, in Erie County Care Facility after a lengthy illness.
She was born May 26, 1926, in Elyria, and worked for numerous places in her lifetime. She was a member of the Salvation Army and was a former member of Norwalk Eagles Club.
She is survived by daughters, Rose LaLone, Carol (Robert) Warnke, Gatha Fritz, Frances (Kenneth) Schacht and Jeannie Franklin Dougherty; sons, Walter (Ruth) Franklin and Ed (Nancy) Franklin; 28 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Kelso; brother, James Myers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter C. Franklin; parents; a sister; three sons-in-law; two grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Tuesday until funeral services at 1 p.m. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Captain Mark Larrick from the Salvation Army and Pastor Darrell Gant from Eagles Nest Church will officiate. Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery.
