Betty M. Zorn, 89, of Norwalk, died early Tuesday morning in her daughter's home in Sandusky.
She was born February 26, 1919, in Cleveland, to Emil and Gladys (Harris) Braeunig. She lived in this area most of her life, having lived with her aunt, Mrs. H.P. "Aunt Rhode" Becker after the death of her parents. She was a member of Norwalk First Presbyterian Church, past District 5 worthy grand matron, past worthy matron of Queen Esther Chapter 15 Order of the Eastern Stars, Norwalk, and a former member of Norwalk Elks Auxiliary.
She was a legal secretary for the law offices of Carpenter and Paffenbarger, Norwalk, and a former employee of Henry's Flower Shop, Norwalk. Betty spent her whole life devoted to her daughter and family.
Her youthful spirit was loved by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan M. Zorn-Maguire and Jack Maguire of Sandusky; and one step-grandson. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Judson, Marjorie Hoerig and Joan Zorn, all of Sandusky; her brother and sister-in-law, Louis and Norma Zorn of Sandusky; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl Zorn in 1973; her parents; and brother, Robert Braeunig.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Friday in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main St., Norwalk, where Eastern Star services will be at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church, 21 Firelands Boulevard, Norwalk; the Rev. Adrian Doll will officiate. Burial will be inWoodlawn Cemetery.
