Robert Ford Reed, 65, of Andalusia, Ala., and formerly of Sandusky, was called home by God Saturday, April 26, 2008, in Southeast Medical Center in Dothan, Ala.
He was born Dec. 30, 1942, in Sandusky. After graduating from Huron High School, he joined the Coast Guard where he learned his trade as an electrician. At retirement from Industrial National he was maintenance supervisor for a number of years.
Bob was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church in Andalusia, where he served as an elder for the last three years. He also served as property chairman and was actively pursuing the Restoration Project for First Presbyterian Church.
Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He leaves his family and friends to grieve the loss of him here on earth, but we look forward, with joy, to seeing him again in Heaven. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 30 years, Ruthann Reed, mother of his children, Sandra and Barbara; also his father, Ford Reed, and mother, Frieda Hummel Reed.
Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Bonnie Ruth Reed of Andalusia; daughters, Sandra (Romy) De Luca of Akron, Ohio, and Barbara (James) Jordan of Norwalk; two stepchildren, Steven Roberts of Los Angeles and Susan (Steven) Roeser of Ponce De Leon, Fla.; his grandchildren Chris, Elizabeth and Alex De Luca, Ryan and Samantha Jordan, and Thomas Roeser; and his sister Diane Klein of Sandusky.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Keahey Funeral Home in Andalusia, and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until funeral services at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church. Pastor Jerry Long will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Romy De Luca, Jim Jordan, Ryan Jordan, Steve Roberts, Steve Roeser and Thomas Roeser. Honorary pallbearers are Ken Bowlin and Roy Weaver.
