Elizabeth "Betty" A. Burkett, 86, of Clyde, died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 22, 2008, in her home.
Mrs. Burkett was born in Ballville Township, Sandusky County, Ohio, daughter of the late Frank and Bertha (Beckman) Peters. She graduated from Clyde High School in 1939.
Betty was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde, the Women of the Church, Fremont Area Women's Connection, Nifty Knitters and the former Townsend Grange.
Survivors include her son, John E. (Sharon) Burkett, Huber Heights, Ohio; seven daughters, Jean (Robert) Cramer, Sandusky, Jane (Frank) Perrin, St. Joseph, Mich., Joan Petersen, Mentor, Ohio, Janet (Keith) Engler, Napoleon, Ohio, Judith (Tom) Wehrmeister, Monroe, Mich.; June (Dennis) Poole, Mentor and Jacquelyn Larkins, Clyde; 18 grandchildren;22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, George (Katie) Peters, Clyde, and William (Dorothy) Peters, Vickery; sister, Thelma Munson, Canal Winchester, Ohio; and daughter-in-law, Michelle Burkett of Wisconsin.
She married Kenneth R. Burkett, March 1, 1941, who preceded her in death March 16, 1994. Her son, James Burkett preceded her in death February, 2006.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday in Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m.Saturday in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde; the Rev. GerryGosnell officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
