George W. "Bill" Burroughs, 78, of 2883 County Road 195, Clyde, died Friday, April 18, 2008 at his residence in Key Largo, Fl.
George was born January 13, 1930, son of the late Jesse E. and Grace N. (Sultz) Burroughs. He married Mary J. (Shoup) July 5, 1950, and she survives in Clyde.
Survivors include his children, David W. Burroughs, Steven S. (Rebecca) Burroughs, both of Bellevue, Randall L. Burroughs of Medina, Ohio, and Michael L. (LuAnn) Burroughs of Green Springs; brother, Harry (Connie) Burroughs, of Fremont; sisters, Doris (Gene) Hart of St. Joseph, Mich., and Donna Mowery and Esther Carter, both of Clyde; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
George worked at the Bendix Corporation and owned Burroughs Framing and Burroughs Framing Spec., Inc. with his son, Steven, until his retirement on Jan. 1, 1993.
George was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arthur E. "Bud" Burroughs; sisters, Varal Askins, Virginia Gilbert and Betty Klawitter.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until funeral services at 10:30 a.m. in Engle-Shook Funeral Home, Green Springs. The Rev. Dennis Reinhart will officiate. Burial will follow at Bakertown Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
