Murita L. Ott, 85, of Sandusky, passed away late Thursday evening, April 17, 2008, surrounded by her family at Parkvue Healthcare Center, Sandusky.
She was born in Sandusky, Oct. 6, 1922, and was a 1940 graduate of St. Mary's High School. Mrs. Ott was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Altar Rosary Society. She was involved with Care & Share, which she helped start.
She enjoyed crocheting and baking.
She is survived by her family, Kathleen M. (Francis) Durso of Merritt Island, Fla., David (Barb) Ott of Huron, Bonita L. Ott of Sandusky, Leonard A. (Susan) Ott of Berlin Heights, Laureen M. (Louis) Bartlebaugh and Jerilyn B. (John) Wassner, both of Sandusky, Julie M. (Robert) Hamilton of Huron, Ronan E. (Elizabeth) Ott of Sarasota, Fla., Marsianne L. (Edwin) Miranda of Pittsville, Md., Russell J. Ott of Marion, Ohio, Malia S. Ott of South Amherst, Ohio; 26 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Ebert; two brothers, Charles Westerhold and James (Pat) Westerhold; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Joseph F. Ott, July 10, 2007; parents, Andrew and Sophie (Winterhalter) Westerhold; brother, Rolland Westerhold in 1996; and son-in-law, Howard "Bunk" Trautman.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today in David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.
Prayers will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky; the Rev. James Bacik will officiate.
Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Sandusky.
