Marilyn F. Wagenknecht, 83, of Sandusky, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 16, 2008, in Stein Hospice Care Center.
She was born Aug. 31, 1924, in McComb, Ohio, and resided in the Castalia area since 1956. She worked on the bookmobile and as a storyteller at the Sandusky Public Library for many years.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Castalia, the Fellowship Club, Townsend Sunshine Farm Women, Car Coddlers Club of Ohio, and performed a variety of other volunteer services.
She is survived by two daughters, Jean (Jeff) Smith, Castalia, and Judy (David) Estep, Clyde; one son, Jerry (Peggy) Wagenknecht, Chicago, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wagenknecht; her parents, Dallas and Elta (Barger) Rader; four brothers; and one sister.
Friends may call from 3-4:30 p.m. Sunday in Grace Lutheran Church, 203 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will be at 4:30 p.m.; the Rev. Kathleen Suggitt will officiate. Burial will be Monday in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
