Steve E. Brown Sr., 71, of Sandusky, died unexpectedly at home Friday evening.
He was born Feb. 9, 1937, in Manchester, Ky., the son of Toleman and Evelyn Brown. He retired from the Lorain Ford Plant in 1994, after 30 years of employment. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Manchester, and was an avid bowler and fisherman.
His wife, the former Karen Mayer, whom he married in 1966; his sons, Steve E. (Debra) Brown Jr. of Lorain, Ohio, and Richard W. (Cathy) Brown of Sheffield Village, Ohio; brother, Verner Lee (Merlene) Brown of Manchester; and aunts, Wilma Nielsen of Sandusky, and Edna and Mildred Hampton, both of Manchester, survive him.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amanda K. Brown, who died in 2007; parents; and an uncle, William E. Brown.
Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Monday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday .
Pastor James H. Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, Strub Road and Campbell Street.
