Donna M. Holodnak, 79, residing in Castalia, died unexpectedly early Friday morning, April 11, 2008, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 13, 1928, in Fostoria, Ohio, and graduated from Fostoria St. Wendelin High School. She was employed by Margaretta Local Schools, retiring in 1989. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, serving on the bereavement committee and the "Red Hat Society."
She is survived by two daughters, Rosanne Holodnak, Castalia, and Barbara McDonald, Willard; two grandchildren, Annette Hahler (Josh Wireman), Willard, and Crystal Hahler, Willard; great-grandchild, Paige Hahler; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Holodnak; and parents, L.W. and Nellie (Dunn) Jones.
Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Sunday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave.; the Rev. Chris Kardzis will officiate. Burial will follow in Castalia Cemetery.
