Frances O. (Hay) Snay, 71, of Norwalk, died Monday, April 7, 2008, in The University of Toledo Medical
She was born Sept. 2, 1936, in Willard and was a 1954 graduate of Willard High School.
She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and active with the widow and widowers group, bereavement committee and the altar and rosary society.
She was a former Girl Scout leader, enjoyed camping, playing euchre and spending time with family, friends and especially her grandchildren. She collected owls, refinished furniture, enjoyed canning, quilting and sewing.
She is survived by her sons, Cletus (Kelly) Snay and Wayne Snay, both of Norwalk, and Brian (Jeannie) Snay of Noblesville, Ind.; daughters, Sarah Snay of Norwalk, Cynthia (Joe) Zidarin of Monroeville and Jane (Tom) Phillips of North Fairfield; special family friend, Beth Lucas; 10 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Dwayne C. Snay in 2005; sisters, Luetta Bischoff and Loretta Zoeller; and parents, Cletus and Loretta (Swartz) Hay.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk, where a wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main St., Norwalk, with the Rev. Frank Kehres, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, Norwalk.
