Gene A. Geiger, 63, of New London, died Saturday, April 5, 2008, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center after a sudden illness.
He was born June 1, 1944, in Norwalk, son of the late Marcellus and Marcella (Miller) Geiger.
He was a 1962 New London High School graduate and served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He was employed by F.E. Myers, Ashland, and later worked at Delphi in Sandusky, retiring in 2006.
He was a member of U.A.W. and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, New London.
He is survived by his wife, Karol Rose (Grubb) Geiger, whom he married May 22, 1965; his daughters, Heidi Rose (Michael) Boyd of Findlay, Amanda Susan (Dale) McClaflin of New London; grandson, Lear Alexander McClaflin; three brothers, Gerry Allen (Jo) Geiger of Berthoud, Colo., Keven John (Cheri) Geiger of Pataskala, Ohio, and Rick Carl (Karen) Geiger of Mansfield, Ohio; a sister, Sue Ann (Greg) Smiley of Worthington, Ohio; a sister-inlaw, Kathy Mezick; nine nieces, Valerie Miller, Lara Ernstine, Kirsten Olivet, Sarah Geiger, Ann Geiger, Mindy Beery, Kim Caldwell, Missy McComb and Heather Johnson; three nephews, Marc Smiley, Heath White and Jason White; seven great-nieces, Paige Smiley, Emma Beery, Katherine, Elisabeth and Samantha Brendle and Bryanna and Emily White; and five greatnephews, Asher Olivet, Johnathan and Nicholas Brendle, Miklos White and Travis Beery.
She was preceded in death by nephew, Eric Marcellus Geiger, and great-nephew, Connor Beery.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 18 Park Ave., New London, with the Rev. Doug Taylor officiating.
