Robert W. Strack, 72, of Sandusky, died early Sunday morning in Firelands Regional Medical Center, after a brief illness.
He was born April 14, 1935, in Sandusky. He retired from Sam Stein and Associates after 33 years of service as a tool and dye maker. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State fan, loved animals, sports and cars, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Cheryl (Don) Weichel of Sandusky, Teresa Strack of Sandusky, Karen (Ron) Blankenship of Norwalk, and Susan Akers of Berlin Heights; his loving companion, Mary Martin of Sandusky; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Darlene Salzgeber of Sandusky; brother, Larry Strack of Sandusky; four nephews; and special little friend Galin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Doris (Johannsen) Strack.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor John Mawhirter of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Entombment will be in Oakland Cemetery following the services.
