Mrs. Karen Lynn Lombardy, 53, entered into rest Sunday, March 23, 2008, in University Hospital, Augusta, Ga.
Mrs. Lombardy was born in Sandusky. She and her husband moved to Augusta in 1979 to open their family practice, Lombardy Chiropractic Clinic. Upon their arrival, she quickly became an active volunteer in the community. She chaired many organizations and served numerous charities in Augusta.
As a member of St. Mary's on-the-Hill Catholic Church she was on the church council and served as president of the PCCW. She also served on the Springlakes Covenants Committee for 10 years and was a crimewatch chairman. Her latest work was with West Lake Womens Club and Lady Lakers. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 1996, she battled this disease for 12 years, but never stopped giving to the community.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Dr. Kim F. Lombardy, the two of whom were high school sweethearts; son, Vincent F. Lombardy; daughter, Laura L. Pascazio, her husband, Nicholas J. Pascazio, and their unborn child. She is also survived by her mother, Beverly L. Dahlke and stepfather Frank E. Dahlke; three brothers and two sisters.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack L. Sharp.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in Thomas Poteet and Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Road, Augusta. A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in Westover Memorial Park by the Rev. Michael Lubinsky.
