Dorothy Colvin, 85, of Lakeside, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2008, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born in Lakeside, Feb. 16, 1923, the daughter of Peter and Mary (Sceranko) Mizla. Dorothy was a graduated from Danbury High School in 1941.
On Nov. 8, 1952, she married Dallas Colvin; he preceded her in death in 1994.
Dorothy worked at Standard Products for many years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead. Dorothy will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jane (Bill) Pickett of Columbia, Md.; grandson, Matthew Pickett and fianc, Rebecca Potter of Columbia; granddaughter, Jessica Pickett of Baltimore; brother, John (Margaret) Mizla of Lakeside; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by brothers, Pete, Lawrence "Sam", Dan George and Frank Mizla; and sisters, Emma Lukac, Mary Mizla and Clara Powers.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, Port Clinton. Additional respects may be paid for one hour prior to the Mass of Christian Burial which begins at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead, conducted by Father James Peiffer. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Marblehead, OH.
