Hazel Madeline Heisler, 89, resident of Willard and more recently of Clyde, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2008, in McAllen Medical Center in McAllen, Texas.
She was born Feb. 7, 1919, in Willard, daughter of the late Charles M. Blinzley and Ruby (Sherman) Cross. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Willard. She retired as a secretary/accountant from Pioneer Rubber Co. She was a former volunteer for first grade at Richmond Elementary School and a former member of Mohican Valley Airstream Club. One of her greatest joys was following the activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Richard Heisler of Port Clinton; three daughters, Cyndi (Ken) Shoup of Willard, Karen (Joe) Sawyer of Clyde, and Deanne (K.F. "Bud") Trill of Palm Harbor, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell K. Heisler, Nov. 28, 1998; her parents; two brothers, Robert and Donald Blinzley; sister, Nellie Jane Kegley Sampson; and nephew, Robert Blinzley Jr.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday in Secor Funeral Home, Willard. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Gerhardt Gosnell, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Clyde, will officiate and the Rev. Brian Peltomaa, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church of Willard, will assist. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, New Haven, Ohio.
