Marie H. (Hyde) Rea , 87, of Huron, died Sunday, March 16, 2008, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born July 26, 1920, in Bennington, Vt., and was a resident of Huron for the past four years coming from Brooksville, Fla., and Syracuse, N.Y. She worked as a nursing supervisor for the Onondaga County Home and Hospital in Syracuse for 18 years, retiring in 1978. Prior to that she worked as a night supervisor at Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital in Syracuse. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Huron, and enjoyed sewing, reading, music and singing.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Everett Rea; two daughters, Susan (William III) Welser of Springfield, Va., and Judi (George) Heck of Kenilworth, Ill.; a son, Everett Rea Jr. of Huron; eight grandchildren, Amie (Samuel) Price, William IV (Eileen) Welser, Michael (Sara) Welser, Sarah K. Welser, Sarah B. Heck, Andrew G. Heck, Katherine L. Rea and Nicholas E. Rea; and great-grandchildren, Samuel and Everett Price and Alaina and William Welser V.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Saturday until services at 11 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, 930 S. Main St., Huron. The Rev. Raymond Vance will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse.
