Don Swain went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 16, 2008.
He was born March 14, 1928, in Sandusky. He was a 1945 graduate of Sandusky High School and served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Erie County Senior Center.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara; his sons, Jon (Carmen) Farrell and Scott (Judy) Farrell, of Sandusky; his daughters, Lindalee Farrell of Holland, Ohio, Lori (Barry) Fiandra of Florida and Keli (Brian) Johannsen of Castalia; his brothers, Gene Swain of Sandusky and Art Swain of Missouri; sister, Lauretta Jenkins of Sandusky; 25 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Laura and James Swain; his sisters, Millie Sidoti and Marlene Swain; and his brother, Bill Swain.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life for Don will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church, Monroe and Wayne streets, Sandusky. The Rev. Dan Miller will officiate. Graveside services with military honors will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Groff Funeral Home, Sandusky, is handling arrangements.
