Alla Mae Fleming, 94, of Sandusky, died Sunday morning, March 9, 2008, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness.
She was born March 23, 1913, in Sandusky. Alla Mae was employed at the former New Departure-Hyatt, Division of General Motors, for 25 years, retiring in 1974. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sandusky, UAW, Local 913, and various veteran organization auxiliaries.
She is survived by one son, Walter "Bud" (Shirley) Schenk of Sandusky; four daughters, Eileen (Gene) Bird of Rotonda West, Fla., Marilyn Hansen of Sandusky, Maxine (Charlie) Hand of Castalia, and Mary Alice (Paul) Weaver of Sandusky; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Fleming; four grandchildren; six brothers; and four sisters.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, and from 9 a.m. Wednesday until funeral services at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2211 Mills St., Sandusky. The Rev. Dr. Gary R. Ulrich will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
