Arthur E. "Art" Osborn, 72, of Sandusky, died Sunday, March 2, 2008, at his residence after a lengthy illness.
He was bornAug. 23, 1935, in Norwalk, to Earl and Catherine (Ratliff) Osborne. He married Imogene Stelle Dec. 15, 1956, and she survives.
He enjoyed fishing, playingbluegrass and country music and NASCAR racing. He had a great love of family and friends.
Mr. Osborn was employed by the FAA as an air traffic controller until his retirement in 1993. He had also worked with his father at Osborne Brothers Construction.
Arthur was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of AMVETS 17.
Mr. Osborn is survived by his wife, Imogene Osborn; daughters, Sherrie (Earl) Likes and Teresa (James) Reichley, both of Sandusky; sons, Doug (Gladys) Osborn of Norwalk, Mark(Jennifer) Osborn of South Bend, Ind., and Jeff (Ruby) Osborn of Clyde; mother, Catherine Elsea of Sandusky; stepmother, Ouida Osborne of Sandusky; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Pamela (Curt) Muehling of Berlin Heights.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Osborne; stepfather, Herbert Elsea; granddaughter, Victoria Likes; and sister, Ruth Anne Yaratch.
Visitation will be from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave.,Sandusky, where funeral services will at 11 a.m. Friday with Pastor Ken Hiser officiating. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park Cemetery, Huron.
