Robert "Pee Wee" W. Puchalski, 74, of Castalia, passed away unexpectedly Sunday afternoon at his residence.
He was born April 19, 1933, in Dayton, Ohio, and was a 1951 graduate of Margaretta High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sandusky, and Sandusky VFW. He worked for Elmer Borchardt Construction and Castalia Trenching before he retired. He loved spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Sue (Rand) Pullano, Sandusky; his son, Thomas (Carol) Puchalski, Castalia; five grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters, Rita (Lamar) Wood of Sandusky, and Virginia Knox, Dayton; several nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Melvina Fritz, Castalia.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia (Schiefley) Puchalski in 1994; his parents Vincent and Mary (Michniewicz) Puchalski; sister Martha Wiswell; and brothers, William, Edward, Ben, and Joe Puchalski.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. Prayer services will be at 9:15 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home, followed by 10 a.m. Mass in Holy Angels Catholic Church, 1605 W. Jefferson St., Sandusky, with the Rev. Chris Kardzis officiating. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
