Robey Elizabeth Shirey, 79, of Attica and well known in the Willard area as “Bobbie” Shirey, died Saturday, March 1, 2008, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, after an extended illness.
She was born Jan. 22, 1929, in New York to Paul and Adie (Blondheim) Regal, now deceased. She retired from Midwest Industries in Willard after 27 years. She was active, for her entire life, in the Willard Assembly of God church, and loved working with children. She loved gardening and feeding birds.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy Hammond of Marietta, Jean (Henry) Alexander of Norwalk and Kathy (Mark) Houghton of Plymouth; son, Ron Shirey of Monroeville; and daughter, Pamela Lahmon of Attica; older sister, Edith of Indiana; her youngest brother, Everett of New York; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandsons, Jonathan Mark Houghton and Jason H. Alexander; son-in-law, Dick Lahmon; brothers, Linton and Evan; and sisters, Violet and Ivy.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk, and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until funeral service at 11 a.m. Christopher Alexander will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Norwalk.
