Dorothy Lee Virginia (Mock) Warner, 86, of Norwalk, died Thursday afternoon, Feb. 28, 2008, in her home after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Warner was born Dec. 31,1921, in Mead Poca, W.Va., and lived in Norwalk for the past 15 years. She was a member of Latter Rain Deliverance Ministry in Norwalk where she served as the Mother of the church., she was also former member of Second Baptist Church in New London, and Christ’s Temple Church in Norwalk.
She retired from Wedge Wood Nursing Home in New York as nurses aide. She had also worked previously as a teacher aide and funeral assistant in West Virginia. She enjoyed collecting salt shakers and angels, studying the Bible, traveling and raising children.
She will be sadly missed by her six sons, William (Billy) Warner Jr., Michael Warner and Ronnie Mock, all of Norwalk, Robert “Bobby” Warner of Lorain, James Buckhannon of Huntington W.Va., and John Buckhannon of Bland, Va.; four daughters, Stephanie Bangura and Tammy Harkness, both of Norwalk, Charlene (Penny) Buckhannon of Springfied, Mass., and Valerie Smith of Navand, Mo.; one sister, Gracie Claytor of Norwalk; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Mrs. Warner was preceded in death by her husband, William Warner Sr.; her parents, Charles Sr. and Willie Mae Mock, her brothers, Charles Jr. and James Mock Sr.; and her sister, Beatrice Moye.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1225 Pierce St., Sandusky, where Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Stephanie B. Angura (her daughter), Pastor of Latter Rain Deliverance Ministry officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Norwalk.
