Arnold L. Missler, 80, of Norwalk and Sebring, Fla., died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born Dec. 19, 1927, in Bellevue. He lived most of his life in Norwalk and owned Arnie’s Cycle and Mower for 35 years. Since retirement, he wintered in Sebring for the past 20 years. He was past president of Sebring Falls Property Owners Association. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 626 and Fr. Stephen Baden Assembly 823 of the Fourth Degree in Norwalk. He was a founding member and president of the National Association of Bicycle Dealers. He was an avid bicyclist.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel (Koepele) Missler of Norwalk; daughters and son-in-law, Barbara and Daniel Lesch of Norwalk, and Laureen Missler of Toledo; sons and daughter-in-law, Richard Missler of Norwalk, and Joe and Carol Missler of Norwalk; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Ronald Stieber of Norwalk; sisters-in-law, Viola Missler of Norwalk, and Rita Missler of Fremont; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clemence and Mary (Fritz) Missler; and brothers, Robert C. Missler and Harold P. Missler.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Monday in Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk, with a wake service at 8:30 p.m.. A 4th Degree Knights of Columbus honor guard will be posted from 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main St., Norwalk; the Rev. Frank Kehres, pastor of the church, will officiate. Private interment will be in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
