Zenaida Mendoza, 57 of Bellevue, died Tuesday in Stein Hospice Center in Sandusky.
She was born in Zamora, Mexico, May 29, 1950, to Rafael and Maria L. (Rubio) Magana. Zenaida married Cornelio Mendoza on May 11, 1969, in Mexico. Zenaida was a homemaker who loved cooking, sewing, reading, gardening and taking care of her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fremont.
Zenaida is survived by her husband, Cornelio Mendoza of Bellevue; children, Edelmira (Theodore) Todd of Bellevue, Ana L. (Felipe) Carlos of Ingleside, Texas, Ivonne (Juan) Valles of Bellevue, Cornelio Jr. (Lena) Mendoza of Hicksville, Ohio, Jessenia Erape of Lorain, Cristina (Mario) Ramirez of Lorain, Jose Mendoza of Bellevue, Juana Mendoza of Fremont, and Lupita Mendoza of Bellevue; mother, Maria Rubio of Bellevue; siblings, Etelvina (Andres) Zuniga of Fremont, Marta Magana of Mexico, Arselia (Sergio) Magana of Mexico, and Rafael (Gloria) Magana of Fostoria; 22 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Zenaida is preceded in death by her granddaughter; and her father, Rafael.
Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Friday in Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home, 416 South Arch St., Fremont, with rosary at 8:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 550 Smith Road, Fremont. The Rev. William Pifher will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery
