Phyllis H. Clemons, 83, of Bellevue, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, in Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Port Clinton, with her husband at her side.
She was born June 26, 1924, in Bellevue. She was the daughter of Phillip and Elsie (Heyman) Seel. She was a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, on Ohio 4 South, and was associated with Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Bellevue. She enjoyed traveling, especially to California, where she and her husband lived for several years. Phyllis graduated from art school in Toledo, and she and her sisters operated a wallpaper hanging business, until her health failed.
Survivors include her husband, Lynn Allen Clemons, whom she married Sept. 21, 1979, in Bellevue; stepdaughter, Jane E. (Rodney) Snowberger, Toledo, stepsons, Timothy L. (Patricia) Clemons, Port Clinton, Thomas A. Clemons, Independence, Wis., and John E. (Laurie) Clemons, Northwood, Ohio; six stepgrandchildren; sisters, Barbara Friend and Sylvia (Larry) Walters, both of Bellevue; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Kory Walters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Roselyn Seel, Kathleen Hasselbach and Jennette Norman; and two nephews.
Calling hours will be 10-11 a.m. Friday, in Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, with funeral services at 11 a.m.; the Very Rev. Keith Stripe, pastor, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Paul's Cemetery, Bellevue.
