John Wayne Robinson, 54, of Lorain, and formerly of Sandusky, entered his eternal home Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, in Lorain, after a lengthy illness.
He was born Nov. 20, 1953, in Waynesboro, Miss., and moved to Sandusky at an early age. John was a career military man, joining the U.S. Army in 1975; he served tours of duty in Germany, Korea, and in Desert Storm. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and fishing.
John is survived by his daughters, Krisinda (Shandor) Windham and Katrinia Taylor, both of Lorain, and Shinnequa Dye, Willard; son, John J. Robinson, Willard; 12 grandchildren, Michael-John Clark, Shandor Windham II, KeAsha Seabrook, Destinee Taylor, Shyreese Taylor, Yviandria Smith and DeAdrion Smith, all of Lorain, Ashley Philon, Sandusky, and Crystal Seabrook, Kiarra Perez, Kaylee Robinson, and John J. Robinson II, all of Willard; great-grandson, DeCoreyan Clark, North Carolina; mother, Cynthia M. Gowdy; sisters, Cynthia A. Gowdy and Jeannette (Rudy) Agee, both of Sandusky, Debbie (Charles) Efford, New Jersey, and Mary Ann Rice, Cincinnati; brother, Jerry (Chelly) Gowdy, Sandusky; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his uncles, John Gowdy, Jeff Gowdy and Oliver Gowdy.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until funeral services at 1 p.m., Friday, in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky; Charlene Adams will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
