Carolyn Mary (Leidheiser) Hartley, 67, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, in her childhood home, while under the comforting care of Stein Hospice, and the constant vigil of her extended family, friends and her pastor, the Rev. David Aber.
She may be remembered as the manager of Joni's Hallmark Store in Huron, from its opening in 1986, until it closed in 2002. She was a graduate of Huron High School, Class of 1958, and Stephens College in Missouri. She attended The Ohio State University.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; two daughters, Sandy (Robert) Schuh, and Michele Koenig (fianc, Douglas Shumaker); three grandchildren, Cody Douglas Koenig, Deven Carolyn Koenig, and Connor Hartley Schuh; sister, Soni (Bill) Seder; brother, Richard (Carol) Leidheiser; sister-in-law, Judy Ishmael; brothers-in-law, Tom and Jim Hartley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her final years were made meaningful by watching Cody and Devon participate in sports and other school activities, and seeing Connor, a pre-schooler at Woodlands Elementary School, develop, during early childhood.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Loren and Doris (Kishman) Leidheiser; and brother and sister-in-law, Loren and Harriett Leidheiser.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in First Presbyterian Church, 225 Williams St., Huron. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the church, with the Rev. David Aber officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion. Foster Funeral Home, Huron, is handling the arrangements.
