Pauline E. (Durfey) Griggs, 89, of Huron, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, in Parkvue Health Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born June 5, 1918, in Defiance, Ohio, and was a lifelong resident of Huron, formerly of 115 South St. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Huron, and enjoyed knitting, baking and cooking.
She is survived by four daughters, Virginia Bush of Norwalk, Barbara Burris of Huron, Lois Thomas of Canada and Marilyn Hindley of Tracy, Calif.; a son, Thomas Griggs of Port Clinton; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Edna (Kisebeth) Durfey; husband, Lyman J. Griggs; four sisters, Mary Wiley, Evelyn Thomas, Viola Weurtz and Clara Mae Schmidt; a brother, Thomas Durfey; a great-grandson; and great-great-granddaughter.
Friends may call from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Foster Funeral Home, 410 Main St., Huron, where services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Roger Skelley-Watts, pastor of United Methodist Church, Huron, will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
