Lyle R. "Kelley" Seeholzer, 74, of Sandusky, died Friday morning, Feb. 15, 2008, in Firelands Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born April 18, 1933, on Kelleys Island to Carl E. and Laura (Martin) Seeholzer, now deceased. On Aug. 6, 1966, Lyle married Jean M. Krawetzki and she survives.
Lyle was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked for Lyman Boat Works and then for Ford Motor Co. retiring in 1994 after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Sandusky, and Sandusky AMVETS.
Lyle will be sadly missed by his wife of 41 years, Jean M. Seeholzer; son, Keith A. Seeholzer of Sandusky; sisters, Ruth Perruchon of Kelleys Island, Laura Jean (Frank) Pohorence of Kelleys Island, Coletta (Dale) Walters of Elyria, and Shirley (Leo) Schreiner of Reedtown, Ohio; brother, Robert (Jean A.) Seeholzer of Sandusky; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Mary Betzenheimer, Rita Betzenheimer, Alice Olwill, and Dawn Kekelik.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Prayers will be recited at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Interment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
