FORT WAYNE, Ind.
Norman H. Oswald Sr., 78, of Fort Wayne, Ind., died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, in Harborside Healthcare, New Haven, Ind.
He was born Sept. 4, 1929, in Forrestville, Pa. He was a U.S. Army veteran with nine years of service. He made his home in Fort Wayne, but also called Erie County home for a number of years. He was a dedicated racing fan and spent his life enjoying cars and everything about them. During his time in Ohio, he owned his own business, Norm's Tire Service, in Castalia.
He is survived by two sons, Norman Jr. and David, both of Indiana; two daughters, Leanne (Ed) of Indiana and Alice of Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Heidi and Tiffany, both of Sandusky, and Mark of Iowa; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Bernice (Don) of Pennsylvania; and nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Helen Oswald; and one sister, Florence Shutt.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Meadowlawn Church of Christ, 1109 E. Strub Road, Sandusky, for all who would like to attend.
