Arnold A. Mischler, 82, Sandusky, died late Monday evening, Feb. 11, 2008, in Stein Hospice Care Center, following a lengthy illness.
He was born June 19, 1925, in Sandusky, and was a 1943 graduate of Sandusky High School. Arnold retired as a conductor from Norfolk Southern Railroad in 1988, after 43 years. He enjoyed Cedar Point and spending time with his family and friends.
His wife, Jean (Wilt) Mischler, whom he married on Feb. 23, 1946; his daughter, Laurie (Dean) Fischer, Norwalk; two sons, Gary (Michelle) Mischler, Sandusky, and Louis (Francie) Mischler, Castalia; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives survive him.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lou Ann Mischler, in infancy; and parents, Arnold M. and Lucille (Keefe) Mischler.
There will be no visitation. Private family services will be conducted at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Groff Funeral Home, Sandusky.
