Rory Pardee O'Rork, 40, of McDonough, Ga., died Monday, Feb. 11, 2008. He battled a rare form of cancer with bravery.
He was born in Sandusky, son of the late James Pardee and Lalla Virginia Payne O'Rork. Mr. O'Rork was a member of Oak Park Church in Jonesboro, Ga. He was delivered from a life of drugs and alcohol and became a certified instructor for " Alcohol Chemical Treatment Series."
He previously attended Calvary Apostolic Church in Elyria, Ohio. He was a petty officer third class in the U.S. Navy; he was an aviation ordinance technician. He was active for three years, in the reserve for three years, and a Desert Storm veteran. He was in the Minor Baseball League in Huron.
He previously worked for Tuffy Auto Center in Elyria. He was an automotive technician for Chrysler Landmark Dodge in Morrow, Ga., and enjoyed racing and restoring muscle cars, especially his 1969 Chevelle Super Sport. He also enjoyed bowling, camping, woodworking, and swimming.
Mr. O'Rork is survived by his wife, Aimee Jo (Bubb) O'Rork; daughter, Christiana Renee O'Rork, both of McDonough; brothers, Harold (Bo) Horne, Denver, Colo., and Dennis O'Rork, Sandusky; sisters, Carolyn Sue Russell and Debbie Collinsworth, both of Huron, and Patty Weaver, Sandusky; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James O'Rork.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, in Oak Park Church, with Pastor David Scott, and the Revs. David Watt, Alan Westmoreland, and Tim Jensen officiating.
