Jessie Dick, 86, a longtime resident of Catawba Island, passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, in Avon Park, Fla., after a lingering illness.
Jessie is survived by her husband, Luther; daughter, Betty Jean Hall of Columbus; and son, David Dick of Pilot Point, Texas; three grandchildren, Kathy Riesner of Columbus, Lesa Plett of Olathe, Kan., and Julie Cordes of Stillwell, Kan.
Mrs. Dick was born in Welsh, W.Va., daughter of Samuel David Lefler and Jessie Violet Montgomery Lefler. Following her parents death, she grew up in the family of Homer and Ada Lefler, with two brothers and five sisters in Science Hill, Ky. Jessie and Luther were married in 1939 and shortly there after moved to Ohio.
She was preceded in death by one brother; three sisters; and one grand daughter, Lori Jean of Columbus.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Thursday at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday. Interment will be in Catawba Island Cemetery, Catawba Island. Pastor Bruce Batchelor-Glader will officiate.
