Jimmy L. Jones Sr., 64, of Clyde, left his earth family to go to his eternal family Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Jones was born Oct. 11, 1943, in Perry County, Ky., a son of the late Sam and Claudia (Jones) Jones. He moved to this area in 1969. He was a member of Little Bethlehem Church in rural Clyde. He enjoyed wood working, but first and foremost, was a family man, being with his children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jimmy retired in June 2006 as a quality inspector at G&C Foundry in Sandusky after 36 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Suedell (Caldwell) Jones, whom he married Jan. 1, 1964; two daughters, Michelle (Scott) Szakovits of Clyde and Monica Pasch of Fremont; a son, Jimmy L. Jones II of Clyde; grandchildren, Miranda, Taylor, Kyle, Travis, Trinity, Jarett and Ben; and great-grandchildren, Adalia and Ava; three sisters, Nancy Smith of Ohio, Martha Jean Jones of Colorado and Vonda Dalton of Ohio; and brothers, Dexter Jones of Indiana, Ray Jones of Indiana, R.J. Jones of New Mexico and Elvis Jones of Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Richard Jones.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday with Elders Roy Smith and Ellis Smith officiating. Burial will be at McPherson Cemetery, Clyde.
