Ralph A. Walker, 82, of Norwalk, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at his residence in Norwalk.
He was born Dec. 15, 1925, to Mr. And Mrs. Samodulski. He was raised in Wakeman and drove a Jeep for many years. He served as a private first class in the U.S. Army from January 1945 until August 1946, during World War II. He received a Good Conduct Medal and an Asiatic-Pacific Theater Service Medal.
He was a carpenter, an avid pilot and enjoyed flying in his earlier years. He was remembered to carry more than 300 pounds with only a small framed body. He had various carpentry jobs, worked for Riley's Garbage pick-up in the past, and enjoyed tinkering with cars.
Only his neighbors and friends in the Norwalk Area survive him. A private graveside service will be Friday in the veteran's section at Woodlawn Cemetery in Norwalk.
