Alice A. (Fox) Hahn, 89, of Milan, died Saturday afternoon, Feb. 9. 2008, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk, after a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 27, 1919, in Sandusky, the daughter of the late Therman and Kathrine (O'Neil) Fox. She ran a vegetable stand from the family farm, Hilltop Farm, and was also previously employed by Philco.
Alice was a lifetime member of St. John Lutheran Church, where she was involved with the Union Corners Club for 30 years. She worked for the Erie County Board of Elections for many years, and her favorite pastimes were crossword puzzles and solitaire. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the source of so much joy for her.
Her daughter and her husband, Barbara and Carl Lau of O'Fallen, Mo.; her son and his wife, Clifford and Betty Hahn of Milan; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Mary Robson of Montpelier, Ohio; two brothers, Emery of Sandusky and Charles of Huron; and several nieces and nephews survive her.
Her husband of 64 years, Clifford, who died Aug. 7, 2000; her parents; sisters, Margarite Falor, Dorothy Dages and Gertrude Forney; brothers, William, Dennis, Frank, Sherman and a brother in infancy, preceded Alice in death.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday in Groff Funeral Home, Milan Chapel, One S. Main St., Milan, and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until funeral service at 11 a.m. in St. Johns Lutheran Church, Milan and Scheid roads, Sandusky. The Rev. William Hlavin will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
