Vernon R. Brant Sr., 65, Milan, died early Thursday morning in Cleveland Clinic, following a brief illness.
He was born March 27, 1942, in Sandusky, and was a 1961 graduate of Sandusky High School. He retired from Tenneco in 1997, after 32 years. Vern was an active member of the Norwalk Eagles and American Legion, the All Ports Yacht Club, and a former member of the Norwalk VFW and Shriners. He enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing, and his yellow lab, Faith. He loved life and brought a smile to many, and that smile will never be forgotten.
His wife, Faye (Broughton), whom he married March 16, 1963; one daughter, Juanita (Calvin) Storch, Milan; two sons, Vernon (Linda) Brant Jr., Norwalk, and Robert (Linda) Brant, Sandusky; grandchildren, Jessica Faye Brant, Huron, and Jacob Storch, Milan; and his sister, Barbara Frazier,Sandusky, survive him.
His parents Juanita (DeNoewer) and Vernon Brant preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Sunday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. There will be visitation from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m., Monday, in Faith Memorial Church,1320 E. Strub Road, Sandusky; the Rev. Kenneth Hiser will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
