Dale H. Dunlap, 73, of Hartland Twp., died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, in Hospice House, Ashland, Ohio, after a short illness.
Mr. Dunlap was born Nov. 4, 1934, in New London, the son of the late Harmon and Alfreda (Terwiliger) Dunlap. Dale lived all of his life in the Hartland area. Dale graduated from New London High School in 1952, and served in the Army National Guard Unit of Norwalk. He farmed most of his life; he drove truck for over 10 years; and he retired May, 1991, from the former New Departure in Sandusky.
He was a member of the New London American Legion Broome-Wood Post 292 and the New London Eagles 2869. Dale was a former member of the Ohio Wagon Train Assoc. and the Pony Pullers Assoc. He served as a former director of the Huron County Fair and superintendent of draft horses. He was a former leader/adviser of the Rocking H 4H Club. His hobbies included coon hunting, field trial dog, horses, and camping.
He is survived by his wife of54 years, Barbara (Powers) Dunlap; his children, Tom (Jackie) Dunlap of Norwalk, Steve Dunlap and Teresa Draper (and fianc, Dale Bowen), all of Ashland, and Doyle Dunlap of Gahanna, Ohio; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lowell (Linda) Dunlap, of Collins, Ohio.
His wishes of a family graveside service were fulfilled today inHartland Ridge Cemetery.
