Philip M. Kaczka, 53, of Sandusky, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at Firelands Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
He was born Jan. 29, 1955, in Bristol, Conn., son of the late Leo M. and Ann C. (Danowski) Kaczka. He worked at Delphi for 30 years, retiring in 2004. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Sandusky.
He was a member and past recording secretary for the Knights of Columbus Council 546 and for Local 913. He was a ranked chess player, and enjoyed bowling, and being with his family.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 33 years, Sally (Grimm) Kaczka; daughters, Mary Kaczka of Huron, Christina (Lawrence Staler) Kaczka of Sandusky; son, Philip M. Kaczka Jr. of Sandusky; grandchildren, Qiana and Dalonda Kaczka, Jaylen Young, and Getrudz and Maria Wheeler; sister, Paulette Telenko of Norwalk; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends will be received from5-8 p.m., Wednesday, in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Prayer services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home, followed at 9:30 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. David Nuss will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
