Charles T. Bahnsen Jr., 72, of Galloway, Ohio, died Feb. 4, 2008, in Select Specialty Hospital.
He was born June 3, 1935, in Sandusky, the son of the late Charles T. and Genievene (Croftcheck) Bahnsen Sr. He was a retired staff sergeant of the U.S. Air Force.
He served for 25 years in four branches: Navy, National Guard, Coast Guard and the Air Force; during the Korean War for one year, and the Vietnam War for three years. He was awarded 19 ribbons and citations including Bronze Star, Air Force Commendation, and Purple Heart. He was a member of American Legion Post 532 and D.A.V. Post 42. He is survived by his wife, Nola (Rader) Bahnsen; sons, David Phillip Griffy of Bellevue, and Michael Shane Griffy of Houston, Texas; sister, Barbara Ellis of Bethpage, Tenn.; niece, Brooke Ann Rader; and nephew, Justin Shane Rader. Friends may call from11 a.m. until funeral service at1 p.m., Friday, in Wellman Funeral Home, 1455 N. Court St.,Circleville, Ohio. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery.
